FIRE Number Calculator

What if you could stop working  not because you had to, but because you chose to? The FIRE movement (Financial Independence, Retire Early) is a growing global philosophy built on a simple idea: save aggressively, invest wisely, and reach a point where your investments generate enough income to cover your living expenses for life. Our FIRE Number Calculator shows you exactly how much wealth you need to reach that point.

What Is a FIRE Number Calculator?

Your FIRE Number is the total amount of money you need invested to be financially independent. It is based on the 4% Rule, which states that you can safely withdraw 4% of your portfolio per year without running out of money over a 30-year retirement. So if your annual expenses are SAR 120,000, your FIRE Number is SAR 3,000,000.

How It Works

The calculator takes your expected annual living expenses and divides by 0.04 (the 4% withdrawal rate) to produce your FIRE Number. You can also adjust the withdrawal rate to be more conservative (3%) or more aggressive (5%) depending on your risk tolerance and planned retirement duration.

How to Use This Calculator

•       Enter your expected annual expenses in retirement.

•       Choose your desired withdrawal rate (default is 4%).

•       Optionally enter your current savings and expected annual return.

•       See your FIRE Number and estimated time to reach it.

•       Experiment with different savings rates to see how they affect your timeline.

Why Use This Calculator?

Without a target, saving feels abstract. The FIRE Number gives you a concrete goal  a finish line. This calculator turns a vague dream of financial freedom into a specific, achievable number you can work toward every month.
